Physics Field Trip
The RRC Physics class attended Physics Day at Target Field on Wednesday, May 2. Physics fun and learning was the theme of the day as the students participated in pre-game labs measuring reaction time, the sweet spot and center of percussion of a bat, and the coefficient of restitution of different playing surfaces. During the game, students took measurements allowing them to calculate the speed of a pitch, the distance and height a batted ball traveled, and the speed to first base of their favorite player. It was a beautiful day for baseball and the Twins came away with a 4-0 victory against the Blue Jays!
