Red Rock Central is proud to recognize Mr. Leonard Runck as our 2024 Teacher of the Year! Mr. Runck has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to our district and exemplary work in outfitting our school with up-to-date technology that simplifies our day-to-day work. Leonard is an integral part of our school district, and our RRC community, and in the words of one of the nominators, “[Leonard] is overall just a stand up guy who should be recognized for his commendable work.”
Mr. Runck wanted to share a few words as well:
I am honored to be this year’s recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award. This recognition is meaningful to me, and I am grateful for this award.
First and foremost, I want to extend my thanks to our remarkable faculty and staff. Your support, encouragement, and collaboration have been key to doing my job. Each of you brings passion to our school. This award is more of a reflection of your efforts and commitment than it is of mine.
I would also like to acknowledge the incredible communities we serve. The residents and local organizations play a crucial role in the success of our students and your school. Your financial support and involvement are the backbone of our educational mission. The multi-million dollar, new-facilities investment will move the excellence that Red Rock Central is noted for well into the future.
Speaking of excellence, I am incredibly proud to highlight our school’s remarkable achievements. We are the only high school in the area to be recognized as a National Blue Ribbon school. This prestigious honor reflects the hard work, dedication, and collective efforts of our students, staff, school board, and community.
Additionally, we have consistently achieved high scores in U.S. News & World Report rankings for decades. It is a true demonstration of the exceptional teaching and learning that takes place within our walls every day.
Again, this award is a collective achievement, and I am incredibly proud to be part of such a talented team. Together, we will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of our students.
Thank you again for this honor.
Leonard Runck
