Red Rock Central School District is located in Redwood and Cottonwood Counties in southwestern Minnesota. We serve approximately 400 students in grades K-12 from the communities of Lamberton, Sanborn, Storden, Jeffers and the surrounding area. We also provide a preschool program for 3 and 4 year olds, as well as Early Childhood Family Education.

We are dedicated to providing a high-quality education for our youth.  With that commitment, we strive for excellence and opportunity for each student in every offering and activity of the school district.

We pride ourselves on valuing strong academic achievement, small class sizes, a wide variety of programs and activities and supportive communities. Red Rock Central High School has been selected as a US News and World Report “Best High Schools” Award Recipient every year since 2008. Our staff, all the way from the principals, teachers, and paraprofessionals to our custodians, office staff, and bus drivers, make teaching and caring for children our number one priority. With a variety of core and elective offerings, our faculty and students create a well-rounded, high achieving educational program.  With Advanced Placement courses, multiple College in the Schools opportunities, a state-recognized FFA program and a variety of clubs, activities, and student organizations, Red Rock Central High School sets a standard for academic achievement and student excellence in the Southwestern Minnesota region.

The voters of Red Rock Central approved the building of a brand new PreK-12 school in the city of Lamberton, MN. The new building at 509 S. Birch St. opened in October 2024 and has replaced our previous facility.
