The Red Rock Central Hall of Fame mission is to recognize past outstanding performers. Nominees will be sent to Hall of Fame Director (update name here) and will be selected for induction by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee, on a voting point system, in the spring. The Banquet will be held in the fall. They can be selected from seven categories/criteria:

  1. Athlete = Successful high school career, state participant, successful college career, multiple sport athlete (eligible 5 yrs after competing)
  2. Coach/Advisor = Successful coach that had longevity in their sport, state coach, conference winning coach, Athlete that played at Red Rock Central, Lamberton, Storden, Jeffers, Sanborn, or any of the pairings, and became a successful coach at another school  (eligible 3 yrs after retirement)
  3. Administrator or Activities Director = Successful administrator or AD, longevity in their position, a great leader (eligible 3 yrs after retirement)
  4. Contributor  = Given monetary donations to the school or booster clubs, long-time supporters of Red Rock Central, et. al.  Athletics  (eligible anytime)
  5. Team = Conference winning teams, district/region/section winning teams, state tournament teams, teams that have set school records for wins, etc.  (eligible 5 years after competing)
  6. Fine Arts = Successful participation in Fine Arts, Longevity, State Performer. 
  7. Distinguished Alumni = Given monetary donations to the school or programs, outstanding accomplishments post-high school.

Bob Gebhard
1961 Graduate of Lamberton High School
Pitcher for Minnesota Twins and Montreal Expos
Extensive Front Office experience in various capacities for Major League Baseball
1st General Manager of Expansion Colorado Rockies in 1992

Robert Van Maasdam
Graduate of Storden High School
Longtime Music Teacher and Choir Director at Red Rock Central
Directed many Red Rock Central Choirs to top honors in various choir events

Ronald Kelsey
35 years of being Agriculture Teacher and FFA Director for Lamberton,
Sanborn-Lamberton, and Red Rock Central
Has served as substitute teacher and been involved in theatrical productions amongst
other positions at Red Rock Central post retirement
Longtime icon at Minnesota State Fair agricultural exhibits

Nathan Mattison
1999 Graduate of Red Rock Central High School.
Outstanding all-around high school, college and current musician with performance
excellence in band, choir, orchestra and composition.

Kristin (Asp) Schoffman
1981 Graduate of Lamberton High School
3-Time High School State Cross Country/Track and Field Champion
National Champion in 3,000 Meters at SDSU in Brookings, SD

Forrest Benz
30+ years serving as Principal and Athletic Director
Helped consolidate schools on 2 separate occasions

Ray Gorder
Longtime Science Teacher at Lamberton, Sanborn-Lamberton, and Red Rock Central
Coached several sports throughout tenure including Wrestling and Golf for many years

Hall of Fame Class of 2023

1988-1989 Storden-Jeffers Lady Chiefs Girls Basketball Team
27-0 Undefeated State Champions.  The only undefeated state championship basketball team (boys or girls) in Minnesota in 1988-1989.  

Gary Gillis
Teacher/Coach.  Started his tenure in our district in 1970 at Storden High School.  Retired from Red Rock Central in 2003. 

Mike Peterreins
Athlete.  1972 Graduate of Lamberton High School.  Attended Dakota State (Madison, SD).  

Bruce Olson 
Teacher/Coach/Principal/Bus Driver/Superintendent.  Started his tenure in our district in 1978 at Lamberton High School.  Retired from Red Rock Central in 2019.  

Jaime Pudenz Holmquist
Athlete.  1996 Graduate of Red Rock Central High School.  Attended University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND.  

Cathy Bassett Amoss 
Athlete.  1987 Graduate of Sanborn-Lamberton High School.  Attended Northeast Community College, Norfolk, NE.   

Jeff DeCock (Honored Posthumously) 
Athlete.  2013 Graduate of Red Rock Central High School.  Attended Minnesota State University, Mankato.   

Mark Arkell   (Honored Posthumously)
Athlete/Contributor.  1990 Graduate of Sanborn-Lamberton High School.  Attended Southwest Minnesota State University, Marshall, MN.
